After many years of dedicated training under the guidance of an accomplished guru, the shishya/disciple “ascends the stage (arangetram)” and perform their best in front of an elite
audience. Arangetram is a solo dance debut where the disciple performs a full concert with a live orchestra accompanying the dancer. The orchestra includes the guru who conducts the recital with the Nattuvangam (rhythmic cymbal), Vocalist, Mridangist, and a Flutist. At the end of a successful recital, the student is awarded a graduation certificate from her guru where she seeks the blessings of the almighty, her guru, and all the elders in order to embark her journey into becoming a full fledged artist.
