Bharatanatyam Dancer

Vaidehi Ramachandrula

Vaidehi Ramachandrula, a Junior at Brookfield Central High School, was introduced to the art form of Bharatanatyam at the age of five, under the tutelage of Guru Smt. Kripa Baskaran. She has embarked on an 11-year journey of dedicated training with a strong commitment to learn and master this beautiful art form. As an active student of Natyarpana, she has performed in many showcases throughout the United States. In a world that often asks young people to choose one path, Vaidehi approaches tasks with an interdisciplinary approach. She is extremely passionate about the combination of the arts and social service. She has raised over $8,000 for the Women’s Health Fund at the Medical College of Wisconsin, funding the research of a rare type of Ovarian Tumor. Vaidehi’s mission extends beyond just advocating for women’s health; she believes in blending the diverse community in Milwaukee through the arts. She is arranging the logistics for an interschool dance celebration, where schools ranging from Hispanic art forms to Indian will work together to raise awareness and funds for the common goal of providing women with the support and resources necessary. She also has a presidential gold service award with the North-South Foundation, actively leads outreaches on her robotics team, and works to get girls involved in math and AI

"There is no other knowledge, no other learning, no other art, not even yoga or action that is not found in dance."
